Getting to Know Pippin

My name is Pippin Allport, and I’m a second year journalism student. I joined in freshman year, and as the only freshman in a room full of juniors and seniors, I was a little intimidated at first. However, I soon realized that it wasn’t that scary after all and it soon became one of my favorite classes.

I joined due to the unavailability of the creative writing course. My main role is general article writing, but I was also involved in the construction project over the summer, and produced promotional material for the new Bloomsburg High School. I hope to become head editor next year- a spot I should be able to get as the only senior journalism student left after this year’s graduation. It’s a lot of pressure, but I think I can handle it. My work has improved a lot from last year, and I hope to improve even more next year.

Outside of journalism, I participate in Marching Band and Chorus as well as Forensics. I have a passion for environmental protection and activism. My personal preference is for creative writing, and I enjoy drawing.

I take every opportunity I can to make other people happy, even though I can’t make myself happy a lot of the time. I hope to do that through what I create in the paper as well as how I act in my life.
